Shaykh Zaid Fataar Al-Azhari is a distinguished South African Islamic scholar with a strong academic background. He began his studies in Cairo, Egypt at age 6 and graduated from Al-Azhar school and college with a Diploma in Islamic Sciences and Quran memorization. Later, he earned a B.A. in Islamic Theology from Al-Azhar University, specializing in Aqidah and Philosophy. He holds private Ijazaat in Hadith and Aqidah from Egyptian scholars.



Shaykh Zaid serves as a Marriage Officer and Commissioner of Oaths in South Africa. He travels extensively, delivering lectures and classes, particularly targeting youth. He appears regularly on radio stations like Voice of the Cape and Radio Al-Ansaar and hosts the “Prophetic Breezes” show on DeenTv, focusing on Fiqh As-Seerah. He is also a member of the Muslim Judicial Council and Assistant Dean at the Madina Institute, heading the Aqidah Department.



Known for his warm and respectful demeanor, Shaykh Zaid teaches courses in Aqidah, Logic, Tafseer, Ulum Al-Quran, and Usul Al-Fiqh. He is dedicated to education and community service, emphasizing the enrichment of young minds through Islamic knowledge.
